Why am I seeing white background when I place an orange colored paper underneath the document camera? How can I make the image reflect the true color of it?

When the background color fills the shooting area, the auto white balance will automatically compensate the color to the white since it doesn't know it is orange by itself, the auto white balance (AWB) turns the background from orange to white. To see the true color of the orange paper, you can:

1. Put a white paper underneath the doc cam, press the AWB button or simply go to the OSD Menu> Advance> White Balance> Manual> Measure. After this, place back the orange paper then you will see the orange color.

2. Simply place a “portion” of a different color paper next to the orange paper underneath the doc cam, the AWB will adjust itself and reflect the orange color.
